Description Our Assisted Living community is looking for a Cook that is responsible for preparing and cooking meals for our residents and their guests located in the Lake in the Hills area.

Responsibilities:
Providing excellent culinary customer service to our residents in a restaurant-style atmosphere Prepare and cook meals in accordance with pre-established menus and recipes Maintain kitchen, food storage, and preparation areas in a clean, sanitized, and safe state at all times Working closely with the Culinary Director to provide residents with a satisfactory dining program Responsible for opening and/or closing the kitchen Documenting temperature of food prior to service and refrigeration/freezer Understand and follow standard food safety practices Review daily menu and review menu items May perform other duties as needed or assigned Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand/walk for majority of the work day; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; must be able to stoop, bend, reach, and kneel frequently throughout the work day; may be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold from ovens and freezers; must be able to see, hear, and speak; may be exposed to industrial cleaning chemicals.

Qualifications:
Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a cook in a hospitality or healthcare environment Positive, friendly attitude and a desire to work with seniors Strong communication and teamwork skills Strong organizational and time management skills ANSI-Approved Food Handlers Certificate Ability to read and follow recipes, cleaning schedules, and logs Ability to work in cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisors, and peers Ability to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers and peers
